Interview with Kengo Kuma about CCCloud
And the collaboration between the company, the design discourse protagonists and the institutions

November 09, 2010

A creative company
For several decades we have been immersed in a time of fast and deep changes.
In order to retain competitiveness, more and more companies are required to be flexible, adaptable and develop at paces that are unprecedented in modern economic history.
We are faced with a process that calls for action, in terms of reorganizing and continuously adapting the companies, re-thinking and developing management and finding a relation with the context, both inside and outside of the company.
The same creativity, in the form of individual and visionary attitude, seems to overflow from the restrictive and specific boundaries of liberal profession and move about and spread – just like a flowing fluid – within the walls of the manufacturing organizations, to later become integral part of the business strategies implemented by industrial brands.
The rethinking effort in terms of the corporate organization, which no longer rests on series and steady production, is more and more focused on the intangible, to the sources of the design discourse, its protagonists and middlemen.
The rise of this corporate metamorphosis is due to the current perspective – at once tangible and intangible – that talks in ever-changing languages, a new expression of objects, architecture, space and life experience.

The creative and making process of CCCloud – promoted by Casalgrande Padana with a careful eye on the double prize of brand promotion and social intervention at a local, community and institutional level – seems to stand out as a valuable example of a new managerial model that aims at improving brand value in the global competition stage by liaising and promoting creative collaboration between the companies, the design discourse protagonists and the institutions.
Casalgrande Padana, Kengo Kuma, the structural team, Mario Nanni and Viabizzuno, The Universities of Ferrara and Catania are the members of the interdisciplinary team; brought together by Kengo Kuma’s creative and visionary talent, they opened ceramics to a fascinating, ethereal and fluctuating existence.
